Senior Solutions Architect – Phoenix, AZ

Duties
Provide consultative pre-sales solution architecture / design services throughout the sales cycle
Assist in the development of solution implementation and integration services proposals
Use vendor configuration tools (e.g., HP Salesbuilder) to provide complete and accurate solution quotations/BOMs for multiple technology partners
Provide product roadmaps and other technical presentations to customers
Work with vendor partners and customers to resolve technical issues
Maintain multi-vendor technical expertise and certifications, through paid training, self-study and hands-on lab experience

Expectations:

Be highly available and responsive to the Sales and Business Development teams
Develop appropriate business relationships with IT Partners' vendor and distributor personnel in order to learn and understand all vendor and Distributor incentive programs
Develop appropriate business relationships with key customer technical staff and be seen as the go-to advisor for their Data Center infrastructure additions, modifications and enhancements

Skills/Qualifications:
Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Minimum 10 years working with enterprise technologies (servers, storage, etc.)

Must have excellent customer and communication and presentation skills
Must have the ability to recognize a customer's business needs and to translate them into a technology solution.
Must have experience with vendor configuration tools, especially HP Salesbuilder
Should have 5 years of experience in a technical presales role in a manufacturer or VAR environment
Should have current competitive server and storage product knowledge
Ability and willingness to motivate and support other consultants
Resilience and resourcefulness when solving complex problems
Ability to present proposals persuasively
Ability to work in both as a team member and a self-directed mode as needed
Eduation or Formal Training/Certifications:
BS/BA with a major in a technical discipline, or the equivalent relevant experience.
Pre- and Post-Sales Technical Certifications from:
  • Hewlett Packard (Storage, Proliant and BCS Servers)
  • VMware (VTSP, VCP)
  • EMC
